Health Freedom Activists

Clinton Miller, Legislative Advocate is the Health Freedom Lobbyist for the Health Freedom Fund.  From 1962 to 1989 he served the National Health Federation (NHF) as Lobbyist, Vice President and Executive Director.

Clinton is the "Father" of the Informed Consent Amendment of 1962. Congress enacted the amendment he proposed which required scientists performing medical experiments on humans to get their informed consent.  Prior to the amendment, medical experiments were being performed on tens of thousands without their knowledge or consent.

He authored and successfully lobbied unanimous enactment of The Proxmire Vitamin Bill of 1976.  It prevented the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from putting most high-potency vitamins on prescription, as urged by the American Medical Association (AMA).

As Chariman of the Utah Anti-Fluoridation Committee, he helped keep Utah the least fluroidated state in America for more than 60 years. As Chariman of the National Anti-Fluoridation Committee, he helped kill all national compulsory Flouridation Bills in the 1960's.

His current projects are to:

1.  Help enact state Health Freedom bills in 46 statets that do not yet have them.  They will be modeled after the MN, RI, ID & CA bills.

2.  Help enact H.R. 4169, the Federal "Mad Hatter" bill to stop mercury from being added to vaccines.  It currently has 31 cosponsors.

3.  Help kill S-722, the Durbin/Clinton bill which will destroy DSHEA (The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act).

4.  Help all cities and states that have compulsory fluoridation, vote to remove it. when it is finally out of all US cities, then begin the work to eliminate it worldwide.

5.  Help enact H.R. 2627 to require the IRS to allow amounts paid for dietary supplements to be treated as medical expenses.

Diane Miller JD is an attorney, dedicating her legal talents to the health freedom movement.  As Legal and Public Policy Director of the National Health Freedom Coalition (NHFC) and the National Health Freedom Action (NHFA), Miller is active in providing information and resources to health freedom decision-makers across the country.  Her work involves state, national, and international health freedom issues, and Miller works to help monitor and promote an understanding of various forms of legislation, international trade guidelines, and Charters.  Her recent role as Co-Moderator of the World Health Freedom Assembly, a 2006 project of NHFC, demonstrates her vision and determination to bring health freedom to the global conversations and arena.

Miller began her freedom work in 1993 when she successfully helped to defend a Minnesota farmer from charges of "practicing medicine without a license". After State v. Saunders, Miller proceeded to design health freedom legislation for the State of Minnesota and was the lead lobbyist and legislative consultant to the Minnesota Natural Health-Legal Reform Project responsible for passing the consumer driven legislation entitled the Minnesota Complementary and Alternative Health Care Freedom of Access Act.  The new law exemps unlicensed health care practitioners from charges of "practicing medicine without a license".

Miller founded the National Health Freedom Coalition, a national information resource for health freedom decision-making, to support individuals and states that are interested in consumer access to complementary and alternative health care.

Diane Miller is a graduate of the College of St. Teresa and Hamline University School of Law. A former Chemist and Licensed Medical Technologist, Miller responded to her deep interest in the politics of healing by becoming an Attorney in private practice with a concentration in Alternative Health Law, Family Law, and Divorce and Child Custody Mediation. She is a founding member of the Minnesota Natural Health Coalition, the Minnesota Natural Health-Legal Reform Project, and the National Health Freedom Coalition. She is also a student of Master Chunyi Lin in the practice of Qi Gong.

Miller's strength lies in her vision for creative process and health freedom reform.

"I believe that laws and customs must be carefully reviewed, revised, and even repealed if necessary, and new ones created, to reflect the continual development, evolution and spiritual maturation of a people."  Diane Miller

Susan Gingerich PhD

comes to Health Freedom through a lifelong interest in public policy and a long road of personal recovery and family health issues brought into remission through natural means.

She earned a Bachelors Degree form Towson University in Maryland and taught kindergarten and preschool in Maryland and Ohio, then earned her Masters Degree and Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education at Ohio State University in 1980.   Areas of concentration included public policy, and during her studies, she was involved in day care issues at the Ohio Statehouse. She also taught Child Development Courses and supervised 72 student teachers. She worked for two years in Franklin County for a Children’s Advocacy Group called Action For Children. She then developed a Gifted and Talented Program for Greenfield Schools.
She wanted to spend time with her own child, so left public schools and looked for a home based business. She developed a Nature’s Sunshine business after she and her husband worked through his cancer and heart disease and her chronic fatigue using supplements and herbs.
She became an instructor for An Introduction to Herbal Medicine at Columbus State College in the Nurses Training Program and taught at least one class a year for ten years. During that time, she also taught for Natures Sunshine. She took the School of Natural Health to 35 cities in 3 years.
Then she answered a need in Ohio, volunteering to be the Ohio Sunshine Health Freedom State Coordinator. In 2006, she attended Diane Miller’s Congress in October, and brought Diane back to Ohio to teach the Ohio team what to do to defeat a registration bill. They were faced with a second one in early 2007. She acted as lobbyist and learned by doing the job. The team located a sponsor in Representative John Adams, and on May 29, 2008 a great Consumer Health Freedom bill was introduced. Her commitment is to see it become enacted into law, and develop a solid organization that will remain a watchdog presence in the State.

She wants to pass on the recent experience she has gained at the Ohio legislature by helping other State Coordinators create a working relationship between their teams and their State Legislators for the enactment and preservation of true Health Freedom Bills that will leave their children and children’s children in a political climate conducive to their spiritual, mental, and physical well-being.
