Louisiana Health Freedom

We are very blessed this year to have hired a new lobbyist, Kathy Chittom. She has lobbied for the Chiropractors in LA since 1981 and comes to us with 27 years experience.

We are preparing to pass a bill that will repair a section of our health freedom law that needs amending. Our sponsor is Senator Sharon Weston-Broome, President Pro Tempore of the LA State Senate (she has sponsored the last 2 bills passed in LA).

On March 1st, we will hold our, "2nd Annual Membership Meeting". Senator Broome, our sponsor, Boyd Landry, Coalition for Natural Health and Dr. John Baker, LSU Dean of Law School will be giving presentations.

Southeast News the local newspaper will do a story on the coalition; they will be present to take pictures and testimonies to complete the article.

We have also scheduled a nutrition class being taught by NSP's Area Manager and LHFC's 2nd Vice President Lyell Turner while the board meeting is going on in another room.

An award ceremony will take place to honor our board members and all major contributors both monetarily and in time.

We will conclude with a drawing. A list of all who have made donations has been compiled to give to all those in attendance.

The 2008 legislative session runs from 3/31 - 6/23/08. We will be keeping you posted as things progress!
