PAST ACCOMPLISHMENTS
COLORADO
Naturopathic Physician Licensure Bills were defeated in 2007 and in 2008.
A Health Freedom Bill was introduced in 2008, but failed to pass out of committee.
A Massage Licensure Bill was introduced and passed in 2008, and exemptions were included in the bill to protect energy workers, reflexologists, etc.
DELAWARE
Delaware had a previous Dietitian/Nutritionist Certification Law that provided an exemption for unlicensed persons to speak about nutrition. The Licensing bill that was introduced in 2007 removed the exemption and would have prevented unlicensed practitioners from providing nutritional advice. Amendments were added to protect unlicensed people
IDAHO
In 2008, a bill was introduced that threatened their Health Freedom law. Amendments were added to protect Health Freedom.
IOWA
A Health Freedom bill was introduced in Iowa in 2008; however it was not successful. They are hoping to try again next year.
LOUISIANA
Louisiana introduced a Health Freedom bill that was passed and the Law was enacted in 2005.
MARYLAND
In the 2008 legislative session, a Health Freedom bill was introduced. It did not pass out of committee, but they are hoping to introduce this again next session.
OHIO
A Health Freedom bill was introduced that included Registration and was defeated. They are currently working on introducing a True Health Freedom Bill in the 2008 legislative session.
VIRGINIA
A Naturopathic Physician Licensure Bill was introduced that would have threatened Health Freedom in Virginia. This was defeated in the 2008 legislative session.
WISCONSIN
A Dietitian Licensure Bill was introduced would have threatened Health Freedom in Washington. It was defeated in the 2008 legislative session.
